Florida’s Atlantic Classical Orchestra, which is headquartered in Fort Pierce and performs in Stuart, Palm Beach Gardens, and Vero Beach on the Atlantic coast, has announced that Executive Director ANNE BERQUIST will be leaving the organization to become executive director of Opera Grand Rapids. The move brings her back to her family, who live in Michigan. In the ACO press release announcing her departure, Artistic Director Stewart Robertson noted that Berquist has “contributed countless hours and an inexhaustible passion for expanding the Atlantic Classical Orchestra.” ACO Board of Directors President Michael LaPorta commented, “Anne leaves the ACO having built a superb staff and established vastly improved business systems.” Details regarding a national search for her successor will be announced in the near future.
