The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia has appointed JANELLE McCOY executive director. She succeeds PETER GISTELINCK, who stepped down at the end of the 2013-14 season to become executive director of the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Symphony Orchestra. McCoy served most recently in the choral field, as executive director of the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia. Prior to that she worked as a consultant in the commercial sector, where she focused on information technology, marketing, and cost efficiency. In her career as a mezzo-soprano she has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Robert Spano, Donald Runnicles, and the late Robert Shaw.
