The Eugene (Ore.) Symphony has appointed JENNIFER DIAZ education director, a position established through a grant received last October from the Meyer Memorial Trust. She will work closely with the orchestra’s Education Committee in implementing programs served by the grant, including the creation of a new senior chamber-music ensemble program, a new afterschool music education program, and a music in the schools program. Diaz served formerly as academic advisor for the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, and has also held positions with the Florida Department of Education, Wildacres Flute Retreat, the Artists Series of Tallahassee, and the Greater Portland Flute Society. She holds graduate degrees in arts administration and flute performance from Florida State University and a bachelor’s in flute performance from Middle Tennessee State University.
