JANICE L. MAYER has been named executive director of Musica Sacra, a professional chorus based in New York City. She served most recently as executive director of Caminos del Inka, founded by Peruvian-born conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya dedicated to discovering, preserving, and disseminating music of the Americas. Mayer is a former vice president at Columbia Artists Management and was founder and director of the New York-based artist management firm Janice Mayer & Associates LLP. She has held posts with New York City Opera, The Shubert Organization, the Metropolitan Opera, the Van Cliburn Foundation, and Classical Action: Performing Arts Against AIDS. Mayer has consulted for such organizations as The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, ML Falcone Public Relations, and the Harlem School of the Arts, and has taught arts administration at New York University and Purchase College of the State University of New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in Arts Administration from New York University.
