San Francisco’s New Century Chamber Orchestra has appointed PHILIP WILDER executive director, effective July 21. He succeeds PARKER MONROE, who held the post for eighteen years and announced his retirement last December. Wilder brings broad experience in artistic leadership, programming, and management, most recently as the founding artistic and executive director of Sing With Haiti, based in Port-au-Prince and benefiting Haiti’s Holy Trinity Music School. He has served as vocalist, artistic administrator, assistant music director, and education director of the San Francisco-based vocal ensemble Chanticleer; as vice president of the classical music public relations firm 21C Media Group; as capital campaign director for the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington, D.C.; and as executive director of communications for the Eastman School of Music. Wilder is a graduate of Eastman (with a bachelor’s degree in organ performance) and of the DeVos Institute for Arts Management.
