COURTNEY SECOY COHEN has been named assistant librarian at the San Diego Symphony. She began her library career as part of the work-study program at New England Conservatory, where she received a master’s degree and a graduate diploma in oboe performance. Cohen subsequently worked as a librarian trainee at Tanglewood; as librarian of Boston Conservatory; as assistant librarian of the Florida West Coast Symphony; and as assistant librarian of the Kansas City Symphony, where she also became a tenured member of the orchestra in the fall of 2008. As an oboist, Cohen has freelanced in the Boston area and performed with the Saint Louis and Baton Rouge symphony orchestras, the Boston Philharmonic, and the Sarasota Opera.
