MARY SCHALLHORN has been named managing director of the Sheboygan (Wis.) Symphony Orchestra. She served most recently as general director of the Maud Powell Music Festival in Peru, Ill. Schallhorn has taught piano at Illinois Valley Community College and served as accompanist for the Mendota (Ill.) Township High School Choirs, Illinois Valley Youth Choirs, LaSalle-Peru Township High School, Maud Powell Music Festival, and a variety of area choral festivals. She has also performed as keyboardist for the Wheaton (Ill) Symphony Orchestra and as soloist with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra. Schallhorn holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Western Illinois University, and a master’s in piano performance with an emphasis in accompanying from Illinois State University.
