2013 Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview
March 12–13, 2013, Jacksonville, FL
Hosted by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra
Up to eight conductors will be selected to participate. Closed sessions on March 12 will be for participating conductors and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra only. On March 13, participating conductors will conduct the orchestra at a free event for those interested in seeing the next generation of major conducting talent, including but not limited to artist managers, artistic administrators, and music director search committees.
Eligible conductors are beyond student/conservatory phase, with a minimum of two years’ paid professional work with an orchestra, a clear commitment to a career in service to U.S. orchestras, and are ready for a staff conducting position in a major American orchestras and/or music director position in other American orchestras.
Application Deadline: November 5, 2012. Conductors will be notified mid-January.
