The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2020-21 season with three free outdoor pop-up concerts in the Little Rock area. The May 26-28 concerts in Little Rock and North Little Rock will feature ASO chamber ensembles, with patrons encouraged to bring their own chairs; masks and social distancing are required. The Rockefeller String Quartet—ASO violinists Trisha McGovern Freeney and Linnaea Brophy, Principal Violist Katherine Reynolds, cellist Jacob Wunsch—will perform on May 26 at Bernice Gardens. The ASO Brass Quintet—Principal Trumpet Ross Ahlhorn, trumpet Carl Mason, Principal Horn David Renfro, Principal Trombone Michael Underwood, Principal Tuba Ed Owen—will perform on May 27 at Argenta Plaza. The Quapaw String Quartet—Principal Second Violin Meredith Hicks, violinist Charlotte Crosmer, violist Timothy MacDuff, Principal Cello David Gerstein—will perform on May 28 at History Pavilion at the River Market. “We couldn’t think of a better way to close this unusual but rewarding season than with three free outdoor pop-up concerts as a thank you to the community that supported us through this past year,” said CEO Christina Littlejohn.
