KEITARO HARADA has been named associate conductor at Arizona Opera, where he made his debut last season conducting Tosca. Since 2009 he has been principal guest conductor for Arizona’s Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra. Harada is a three-time winner of the International Conductors Workshop and Competition in Georgia; was a semifinalist in Mexico’s Eduardo Mata International Conducting Competition and the first Chicago Symphony Orchestra Solti International Conducting Competition; and this year was one of six conductors selected for the League of American Orchestras’ Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview. A native of Tokyo, Harada is a graduate of Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Arizona.
