The Charleston (S.C.) Symphony has announced three additions to its core orchestra effective this season: ZAC HAMMOND, principal oboe; ANTONIO MARTI, principal trumpet; and JOSHUA BAKER, principal bassoon.

Hammond was formerly principal oboe of Symphoria, the professional orchestra in Syracuse, N.Y. He has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Lake Placid Sinfonietta in New York State, with the Charlotte (N.C.) Symphony Orchestra, and with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach.  

Marti has performed with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra in his native Spain, as well as with the New York Philharmonic, the Japan Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Philharmonic. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mannes College The New School for Music in New York City.

Baker is pursuing a master’s degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston’s New England Conservatory.
