The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of MATTHEW SWANSON as 2015-16 choral conducting fellow at its affiliated Cincinnati May Festival. Swanson is staff conductor for Berkshire Choral International (Sheffield, Mass.), assistant choirmaster at Cincinnati’s Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, and a staff member of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. He sang in the May Festival Chorus for three seasons, and currently performs with Cincinnati’s Vocal Arts Ensemble. Swanson holds bachelor’s degrees in trumpet performance and American Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and graduate degrees in conducting and choral studies from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and King’s College, Cambridge.
