Canadian violinist SARAH McELRAVY has been appointed concertmaster of CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra in Ohio. Also first violinist of the Linden String Quartet, an award-winning ensemble currently in residence at Yale School of Music, McElravy received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 2009 she was awarded first prize in CIM’s concerto competition, and she is the recipient of several Canadian honors, including a silver medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music, several first prize awards at the Ontario Provincial Finals, and second prize at the Canadian Music Competition National Finals.
