The Fayetteville (N.C.) Symphony Orchestra has appointed FABIÁN LÓPEZ concertmaster, effective with the 2014-15 season. Currently an associate professor of violin at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, López has served as concertmaster of North Carolina’s Greensboro and Asheville symphony orchestras and has appeared extensively in the U.S., Europe, and South America as a violin soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. A graduate of Spain’s Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga, López holds a Master of Music degree from Baylor University (Waco, Tex.) and a DMA from the University of Michigan.
