The Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra has announced the appointment of KEN LAM as artistic director effective with the 2011-12 season. He also serves as orchestra director at New Jersey’s Montclair State University as well as resident conductor of the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina, and he recently concluded his tenure as assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. A featured conductor in the League of American Orchestras’ 2009 Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview, Lam received his training at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen, and the National Conducting Institute in Washington, D.C.
