Nashville Symphony Associate Conductor KELLY CORCORAN has been named director of the Nashville Symphony Chorus, the orchestra’s 160-member vocal ensemble, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the 2013-14 season. She succeeds GEORGE MABRY, who retired from the post in November 2011. Prior to joining the Nashville Symphony conducting staff Corcoran served for three years as assistant conductor of the Canton (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra, as well as music director of the Canton Youth Symphony and of the Heights Chamber Orchestra in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She was a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in western Massachusetts for more than ten years. Corcoran earned a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from the Boston Conservatory and a master’s in instrumental conducting from Indiana University.
