ArtsReady, a nonprofit that provides arts organizations with business continuity plans for post-crisis sustainability, has received a $225,000 grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation that will support its web-based national emergency-preparedness tool. ArtsReady, launched on September 15, 2011, is a national initiative of South Arts, which following hurricanes Katrina and Rita began promoting emergency preparedness and business continuity planning for artists and arts organizations. “In a time when arts organizations can be decimated by unforeseen emergency—whether from weather, economic collapse, executive transition or controversy—we are delighted to support ArtsReady,” said Ben Cameron, the Doris Duke Foundation’s program director for the arts.
