Announced in August, Atlanta’s Wells Fargo ArtsVibe Teen Program connects teens with local arts organizations. Since the fall, the 49 Atlanta-area teenagers selected for the program have been meeting twice a month, working closely with arts administrators from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Alliance Theatre, High Museum of Art, and Young Audiences to program and promote ArtsVibe events to their peers. The ArtsVibe Teen Council has invited high school teens to its inaugural event on December 21, a holiday party, at the Woodruff Arts Center, where there will be DJs, dancing, mural painting, and games. Students were admitted to the program following submission of online applications and in-person interviews. Future ArtsVibe events will include music lessons, poetry slams, acting classes, behind-the-scenes access to rehearsals and productions, and performances by teens for teens, through the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and Alliance Theatre.
