The Austin Symphony Orchestra has announced that THOMAS M. NEVILLE will succeed JOE R. LONG as president of its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2012. Long, who has served as ASO president since 1996—and for whom the orchestra’s home venue, the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts, is named—will become chairman of the ASO board. Neville is executive vice-president of PlainsCapitalBank and was previously managing director and senior banker for Northern Trust Austin.
