The Boise Philharmonic’s youth orchestra, the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra, will perform on December 22 from 3:30-4:15 p.m. in the atrium of the Boise Airport, near the security entrance. Musicians will perform holiday favorites and other music for holiday travelers, led by Music Director Jennifer Drake. Musicians from the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra have participated in several service events this season, including at the St. Vincent de Paul charity and at a Movement + Music event for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Youth Orchestra ensembles have also performed in the lobby of each of the Boise Philharmonic’s concerts this season. The youth orchestra for woodwind, brass, percussion, and string musicians in ninth through twelfth grade provides ensemble training and opportunities through rehearsals and coaching from principal players of the Boise Philharmonic.
