California’s Camellia Symphony Orchestra in a February 16 concert that benefited efforts to provide relief for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Several orchestras and music organizations in California have put together fundraising events and concerts to support relief from the wildfires that devastated vast areas of Los Angeles. Among them are the following.

On February 16, the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento performed a concert at which all proceeds from tickets went to the California Fire Foundation to support wildfire relief, thanks to an anonymous donor. The 62-year-old orchestra is Sacramento’s longest-running orchestra and comprises professional and community musicians. Christian Baldini is the Camellia Symphony’s music director and conductor.

On March 8, the San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Musicians of the San Francisco Symphony will present “SF Musicians for LA: A Benefit for Fire Relief” at Davies Symphony Hall. San Francisco Conservatory Music Director and frequent San Franscisco Symphony guest conductor Edwin Outwater; musicians from the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Symphony Chorus, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music; and pianist and Conservatory faculty member Garrick Ohlsson will perform at the benefit concert. Net proceeds from all ticket sales will be split evenly and donated to two organizations providing relief services: Entertainment Community Fund and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles: ReBUILD LA.
