In the July 19 WLWT5, Matthew Dietz reports, “North Avondale was buzzing with community Friday night for a ‘Brady Block Party,’ part of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s summer concert series. The concerts are completely free, and they make a difference for neighbors. ‘We’re excited about being here and meeting new people and having new people experience the orchestra,’ chief DEI officer of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Harold Brown said. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra said the concert series is all about drawing people in, and everyone is invited. ‘We’re doing everything we can to be relevant to a younger and more diverse audience, in addition to our long-time stalwart supporters,’ Brown said. ‘For us, this is just a way to expand our exposure, but also to share, great, great music, bring people together, families together, and our community.’ … The concert was one of five throughout the summer and the first in North Avondale. Friday’s crowd was a melting pot of ages and experiences—a perfect example of the orchestra’s mission. ‘No matter where you live, no matter your age, no matter your race or ethnicity, we want everybody to feel like the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is for me,’ Brown said.”
