Applications are now being accepted for conductors to participate in the 2013 Conductors Lab, which takes place in Aix-en-Provence, France from July 22 to 26, 2013. Applications will be accepted until all slots are filled. The lab does not have one master conductor, and is headed by Thomas E. Verrier, director of wind studies at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music and artistic director of the Vanderbilt Music Académie in Aix-en-Provence. In the four-day lab, conductors lead members of the Berlin Philharmonic in two 30-minute rounds and receive comments and critiques in real time. Participants will also attend lecture/discussions and group discussions led by members of the orchestra; and attend evening receptions and Q&A sessions.
