On the October 15 WKBW News show (Buffalo, New York), host Michael Wooten interviews Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director JoAnn Falletta and Concertmaster Nikki Chooi. They discuss an upcoming Buffalo Philharmonic concert at which Chooi will be featured performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto, and also discuss the documentary film Maestro JoAnn Falletta – Symphony Trailblazer. Directed by Buffalo-based filmmaker Brenda Turteltaub Feldstein, the film won a New York State Emmy Award in the Arts/Entertainment – Short Form Content category on October 11. The documentary chronicles Falletta’s 25 years as music director of the Buffalo Philharmonic. In the live news segment, Chooi plays an excerpt from the Red Violin film score.
