In Sunday’s (4/7) IndyStar.com (Indianapolis), Domenica Bongiovanni writes, “Michael Davidman, a 27-year-old pianist, won the 2025 American Piano Awards on Saturday night. Davidman’s victory earned him a prize package valued at over $200,000, including career management, a recording contract, and a recital tour. The American Piano Awards is a prestigious competition held every two years in Indianapolis … Davidman performed the Rachmaninoff [Piano Concerto No. 3] Friday night with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra—the first of two finals nights at Hilbert Circle Theatre…. Each of the finalists, including the winner, will receive $25,000 from the American Piano Awards … Davidman competed against finalists Avery Gagliano, Sasha Kasman Laude, Elliot Wuu and Angie Zhang. Across Friday and Saturday, the five soloed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the baton of guest conductor JoAnn Falletta…. From October through February, each finalist visited the Circle City to perform for another jury panel with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra as well as participate in outreach and community events.
