Tuesday (12/20) on the Fox 11 news site (Appleton, Wisconsin), Kelly Schlicht writes, “Horns blew. Feet tapped. And smiles were brought to faces of those at The Heritage watching the Fox Valley Symphony’s Brass Quintet. … Residents at the senior living facility say it’s been awhile since they saw professional classical musicians perform. … The musicians say this musical experience is part of a new program called ‘Operation Overture,’ kicking off this week. ‘We are part of the community, not just in Appleton, but throughout the Fox Valley region, and bringing music to people who may or may not be able to join us in the concert hall is just another aspect of what we do sharing music of all sorts,’ said Eric Larsen, a bass trombonist for the orchestra. The symphony says it’s great to get out in the community and give the gift of music to people who normally don’t get to experience it live.”
