The Grand Rapids Symphony in western Michigan has introduced two initiatives, Free for Families and Symphony Scorecard. Under Free for Families, up to two children per family may attend concerts free for each full-price adult ticket purchased. The program is available for children through twelfth grade, and may be used to attend classical, pops, and family concerts. Symphony Scorecard offer cardholders up to four free tickets per concert program for members of the community receiving financial assistance from the state of Michigan as well as active, Guard, and Reserve duty military families. Symphony Scorecards are available from Department for Health and Human Services social workers, as well as military support centers. Bus passes are also available for Symphony Scorecard holders.
