“The Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra has created its first Young Composers Competition for high school-age composers (18 and younger) who live in North Carolina,” writes Dawn De Cwikiel Kane in Wednesday’s (6/18) News & Record (Greensboro, North Carolina). “The winning composition will receive a public premiere at a youth orchestra concert. The orchestra will record the composition and include it on a 2015 CD. The competition is targeted to professionally-focused young composers under the guidance of a professional composition teacher or mentor. However, all submissions will be considered.
