Thursday’s (12/22) Times-News (Hendersonville, North Carolina) reports, “The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra has been awarded a grant of $7,000 from the Perry N. Rudnick Foundation, Donna J. Hastie, president of the HSO Board of Directors, announced Wednesday. The grant will be used to support two special guest artists who will perform during the 40th anniversary season of the symphony, which was founded in 1971. The goal of the 40th season is to celebrate the past and to reward the community for 40 years of continuous support, Hastie said. The symphony has many reasons to celebrate, from continued artistic growth, the completion of a five-year Beethoven symphony cycle, the vital youth and educational activities and honoring those who have brought the HSO through 40 years of music making.”
