The Houston Symphony performs free concerts at schools, community centers, and churches every summer. This year, the orchestra is expanding its Neighborhood Concert program to new and diverse communities in Greater Houston, including the Chinese Community Center, churches such as Windsor Village United Methodist and Wheeler Avenue Baptist, and venues serving Houston’s Hispanic community. On June 13, local television station FOX 26 News reported on a Houston Symphony instrument petting zoo at Ripley House Neighborhood Center in Houston’s east end.
