In Thursday’s (11/14) St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Rob Levy writes, “As the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra looks to bring its world-class sound back to Powell Hall in 2025, it’s also working to bring that sound to a new audience. SLSO officials tout stories such as that of one recent new subscriber who found the symphony through its free-ticket partnership with the city and county libraries. The partnership allows symphony newcomers to redeem a voucher for two free tickets to a concert…. While the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s programming includes the works of composers like Sibelius, Mozart and Ravel, the organization loves to host special events like Celtic Woman’s Christmas Symphony, ‘Beethoven x Beyoncé’ and ‘Double Play featuring Adam Wainwright’ to entertain and attract new audiences. When the symphony hosted its ‘Brahms x Radiohead’ concert … it offered newcomers a deal to a later show. That convinced at least a handful of people to become season subscribers. SLSO President and CEO Marie-Hélène Bernard is proud of the orchestra’s endeavors.” The article reports on multiple initiatives at the St. Louis Symphony to connect with communities
