In Friday’s (6/17) Dallas Business Journal, Bill Hethcock writes, “The Irving Symphony Orchestra is changing its name in an attempt to broaden its regional and demographic appeal. The name—Enviso—is similar to the Latin word inviso, which means ‘to behold,’ and the rebranding incorporates the letters ISO, the abbreviation used for the Irving Symphony Orchestra, said President Trace Boyd. The orchestra, led by Maestro Hector Guzman, will be marketed as Enviso: Symphonic Music You Can See. Boyd said he and orchestra’s board of directors hope the new name will give the 48-year-old organization ‘immediate, direct, instant identification with arts consumers.’ A subscription is required to view the full article.
