“The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra has won a Nonprofit Innovation Award for its Sound Discovery Music Programs,” writes Jenelle Janci on Monday (2/29) at LancasterOnline.com (PA). “The symphony was honored at an awards ceremony at the Wyndham Gardens York on Friday. The Sound Discovery Music Programs include Open Rehearsals, which introduce classic music to both students and adults, the Music Discovery Experience, a program serving the School District of Lancaster, the Gift of Music and master classes. The Nonprofit Innovation Awards recognize local nonprofits that are finding new and creative ways to engage their communities with limited resources. The symphony was the only Lancaster County nonprofit nominated in that category. The Nonprofit Innovation Awards are a partnership between Central Penn Business Journal, the Lancaster County Community Foundation, The Foundation for Enhancing Communities and the York County Community Foundation.”
