Lincoln Center has announced that its new visitor center, The Atrium at Lincoln Center, will open on November 12. The space, located on Broadway between 62nd and 63rd streets across from the main Lincoln Center campus, will feature free peformances; day-of discount tickets to Lincoln Center peformances; ‘wichcraft, a Tom Colicchio café; and indoor vertical gardens and a fountain. The visitor center, formerly known as the Harmony Atrium, is being designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and is LEED Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The space, also serving as a departure point for Lincoln Center tours geared to tourists, will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. An opening ceremony will take place on November 12 at 10 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting and performance by Juilliard students of a world premiere commissioned for the opening. The visitor center is part of the renovation and modernization of Lincoln Center during its 50th- anniversary year.
