Associate Conductor at the Seattle Symphony since 2022, Sunny Xia is mentored by Ludovic Morlot, and leads the Seattle Symphony in over a dozen programs each season. Other mentors include M. Alsop, J. Falleta, T. Munoz and C. Macelaru. An avid interpreter of contemporary music, she has been Conducting Fellow at the Cabrillo Festival and has over a dozen world premieres under her credit. She has appeared as guest conductor with the Phoenix Symphony and the Chandler Opera Company, leading La Boheme. Xia holds a dual master's degree in Orchestral Conducting and Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
