Manuel López-Gómez has been appointed associate conductor of Florida’s Naples Philharmonic and director of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Florida’s Naples Philharmonic has announced the appointment of Manuel López-Gómez as associate conductor and director of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, starting with the 2024-25 season. He will lead the Naples Philharmonic in select programs throughout the season and will lead the youth orchestra. López-Gómez has conducted ensembles including the National Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Simón Bolívar Symphony, and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, among many others. In addition to his performance career, López-Gómez is committed to nurturing young musicians, a passion that stems from his early days in Venezuela’s El Sistema program. Dedicated to education, he is the former music director of the Bogotá Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and currently works with the Medellín Philharmonic. Alexander Shelley is artistic and music director of the Naples Philharmonic.
