Essentials of Orchestra Management is the League of American Orchestras’ professional-development seminar, which will again be hosted by the University of Southern California Arts Leadership Program at the Thornton School of Music. At this intensive ten-day boot camp, top leaders of the orchestra field teach aspiring and early-career orchestra administrators all aspects of orchestra management. It’s open to anyone with fewer than three years of performing-arts management experience, including graduate students, musicians, and those from outside the orchestra field.

Essentials takes place in Los Angeles from July 12 to 21. Scholarships are available.

Since its inception in 2000, over 400 emerging leaders have participated in Essentials, including many who now hold key leadership positions in orchestras. Apply here.
