“The Memphis Symphony Orchestra is launching the second phase of its ‘The Future Now’ campaign, to raise $35 million to complete its endowment drive and build its reserve fund,” writes Elle Perry in Tuesday’s (5/21) Daily Memphian (TN). “According to the symphony, $25 million has been raised so far. The symphony’s permanent endowments at the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and the University of Memphis Foundation will manage the funds. The University of Memphis Foundation fund will also support the work between the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and the symphony. The orchestra also announced it would name its principal clarinet position for past chair Gayle S. Rose, a music supporter and former professional clarinetist.”
