For the Miami Symphony’s upcoming “Moz-Art” concerts on April 11 and 12 in Miami, Concertmaster Daniel Andai will guest conduct the orchestra in Salieri’s Sinfonia in D (“La Veneziana”); Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, with Spanish pianist Ignasi Cambra; and Sinfonía Clásica by Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne, one of the orchestra’s composers-in-residence. Also featured at the concert will be area students who participated in the orchestra’s second annual Music Art Challenge. The Music Art Challenge initiative— for Miami elementary-to-high-school students in underserved communities—explores the roots of classical music and its parallels to other genres such as the visual and written arts, with the goal of expanding students’ interests in these disciplines. It is run by Daniel Andai and Miami Symphony Music Director Eduardo Marturet.
