Alison Bolton has been named vice president of artistic administration at the Nashville Symphony, effect February 2023. Over the course of her nearly 20-year arts administration career, Bolton has focused primarily on the areas of concert production, operations, and education. Since 2016, she has served as vice president for artistic and orchestra operations at the Buffalo (NY) Philharmonic Orchestra, where she spearheaded several large-scale artistic projects, coordinated dozens of recordings for the BPO’s own label and for Naxos, ran the orchestra’s domestic tours, and oversaw the planning and execution of the orchestra’s international tour. Prior to the BPO, Bolton held positions at the Alabama Symphony (director of artistic operations); the Albany Symphony Orchestra (operations manager; director of artistic operations; general manager); the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (manager of audience engagement, festivals and artistic projects); and the Tucson Symphony (operations coordinator). A Cincinnati native, Bolton holds degrees in viola performance from the University of North Carolina School for the Arts and the University of Akron.
