The Nashville Symphony’s September 2008 all-Gershwin program at Schermerhorn Symphony Center will be broadcast on PBS beginning March 26 at 10 p.m. ET. Under Music Director Designate Giancarlo Guerrero, the orchestra performs the Cuban Overture, An American in Paris, Concerto for Piano in F Major, and Rhapsody in Blue, with pianist Kevin Cole. The orchestra’s previous PBS broadcast of its 2006 grand-opening concert at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, “One Symphony Place: A World Premiere from Music City,” won a MidSouth Regional Emmy Award. The new program, “Gershwin at One Symphony Place,” first aired on Nashville Public Television on November 24, 2008. The orchestra reports that as of early March approximately 70 percent of PBS affiliates will air the show at least once by March 31.
