California’s New Century Chamber Orchestra is set to release Together, its first CD to come out with violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg as music director, on August 11. The CD for the music label will feature music of Piazzolla (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires), Clarice Assad (Impressions—Suite for Chamber Orchestra), Bartók (Roumanian Folk Dances), and Gershwin (“Bess, You Is My Woman Now”). Founded in 2005 by Salerno-Sonnenberg, NSS Music has released eight recordings of music by Salerno-Sonnenberg as well as music featuring other musicians, including pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, French horn player John Cerminaro, and composer/vocalist Clarice Assad. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, the New Century Chamber Orchestra is a seventeen-member conductorless string chamber ensemble founded in 1992.
