The New Haven Symphony Orchestra has formed a partnership with Discount Power, Inc., a low-cost electricity provider in deregulated electrical energy markets in Connecticut. When customers sign up for an account through the NHSO’s microsite http://www.nhsopower.com, they will save up to 10 percent on their electric bill, and a portion of each kilowatt hour purchased will go to the NHSO. Executive Director Elaine C. Carroll said in a statement that the program will “generate ongoing revenue to support NHSO concerts and education programs.” Kristilee LaHayee, a broker manager at Discount Power, said, “We are excited by the opportunity to generate a stream of ongoing donations to an organization as extraordinary as the NHSO.”
