“Methodist University is now ‘the official home’ of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, the entities jointly announced Saturday night prior to a performance in Huff Concert Hall,” writes Alan Wooten in Saturday’s (12/12) Fayetteville Observer (Fayetteville, N.C.). Huff Concert Hall is located at Methodist University in Fayetteville. “With the agreement, the symphony will hold the majority of its concerts at the university; have collaboration of its artists and staff with the university faculty, staff and Music Department; and develop increased opportunities for visiting artists, internships and other experiences that would benefit both organizations. The university has plans for renovations at Huff Concert Hall and invited [orchestra President and CEO Christine] Kastner and Fouad Fakhouri, the symphony music director, to be a part of the conversations with architects and sound experts…. ‘This partnership is a win-win for both organizations and our community,’ said Linda Huff in the statement from the university. She graduated from Methodist, serves on its board of trustees and the symphony’s board of directors, and is a lead donor for Huff Concert Hall.” This season, the Fayetteville Symphony’s concerts take place at Huff Concert Hall; Seabrook Auditorium at Fayetteville State University; and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
