The start of the new orchestra season often brings with it a handful of new hall openings. One that’s been particularly anticipated is the new home of the Santa Rosa Symphony, the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Hall, at the Donald & Maureen Green Music Center on the pastoral campus of Sonoma State University in California. The orchestra will have its season-opening concerts there on September 29 and 30, featuring a new commission from Nolan Gasser called Sonoma Overture under the direction of Music Director Bruno Ferrandis.
