Montana’s Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Norman Huynh.

On Saturday (6/22), the Editorial Board of the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (Montana) wrote, “Local lovers of orchestral music have watched the impressive maturation of the Bozeman Symphony over the past four years under the leadership of Norman Huynh, Music Director and Conductor…. Huynh, a charismatic rising star among USA-born young conductors, has guest conducted the Minneapolis and St. Louis symphonies, as well as the New York Philharmonic. Yet, to the delight of local patrons, he has committed to an additional five years at the podium of the BSO. On the administrative side, Executive Director Jacob Blaser and his staff have spearheaded a near doubling of season ticket sales … The music director, also a talented teacher, has skillfully helped local musicians to realize their full artistic potential, while selectively adding key professional principals … Collaboration with the Montana State University Department of Music has also been enhanced in recent years…. The musicians and staff are actively involved in outreach to music programs in the local schools and surrounding communities; an annual full concert … for fourth graders; small group performances at the hospital, library, and nursing homes; and a variety of other events … Orchestral music is alive and well in Bozeman.”
