
Michael Zielinski has been named development director at the Rockford Symphony Orchestra in Illinois. He joined the orchestra as principal bass trombone in 2007.
Michael Zielinski has been hired by the Rockford Symphony Orchestra in Illinois as its first-ever full-time development director. Zielinksi has served as the orchestra’s principal bass trombone for more than 15 years, and since January has been in the part-time role of personnel manager. He has an extensive background in management and sales as well as in the manufacturing sector of the music industry. Zielinski earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance at Duquesne University and completed a master’s degree in music literation and performance at Northwestern University in 2005. Zielinski joined the Rockford Symphony Orchestra in 2007 as principal bass trombone. He previously served on the music faculty at Illinois State University.
