The free concert celebrates the end of summer with tunes ranging from classic movie themes, Broadway, and pops hits. Pops in the Park is scheduled … Sept. 1 at the Wenonah Park bandshell in Bay City…. To make the free concert possible, the SBSO is launching a crowdfunding campaign this week…. The brand new Wenonah Park Bandshell [replaces] the original 1979 Friendship Shell [which] was dismantled in February 2020 and a new one was built in its place throughout the year, waiting in silence to welcome in performers and crowds as the COVID-19 pandemic raged on. The music came back to the Saginaw River waterfront in 2021 as Wenonah Park bandshell has been celebrating its inaugural season…. The SBSO was created as a project of the Saginaw Department of Parks and Recreation in 1935 and has performed an annual concert series ever since.”
