“Due to last week’s mass shooting, the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra concert at the California Theatre has changed its ‘Home for the Holidays’ program to conclude with ‘Let There Be Peace on Earth,’ sung by the Loma Linda Academy Choir,” writes Laurie Lucas in Tuesday’s (12/8) Press-Enterprise (Riverside, CA). “ ‘We all agreed we want to dedicate it to our beloved city of San Bernardino,’ said Anne Viricel, the orchestra’s executive director. ‘It seemed like the right thing to do.’ The Dec. 12 concert will still feature eight costumed opera singers from ‘La Boheme,’ but earlier rather than at the end. She said several people called to see if the concert would be canceled, but Viricel said: ‘If we cancel, the bad guys win.’ ”
