Last Monday (9/23), Tulsa People (Oklahoma), ran a photo essay by Tom Gilbert showing scenes from the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra’s most recent 101 Unplugged concert. The orchestra’s string quartet performed Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” and other works at Tulsa’s 101 Archer space as University of Tulsa art students painted alongside the musicians. The “Death and the Maiden” event was the first in the orchestra’s four-part series of 101 Unplugged concerts this season that feature music ranging from film soundtracks to Mozart scores, which will be performed at the next event, on Nov. 22.
